Time of the year has arrived when we pause and recollect successes and failures of the year which has gone by and we head to taking all new refreshed resolutions for an awesome year ahead. As we get into the spirit of gifting, rejoicing and connecting with our friends and family, I thought of dedicating the coming year to deepening my bond with my loved ones. That’s when I thought of these 5 gifts of love to share with them, to let the flowers of affection and understanding bloom and to get the weeds of bitterness cleared.
Gift No. 1: Gift of Attention,
When there are more and more things around us competing with our time and attention, one of the greatest gifts we can give costs nothing: the gift of being fully present in the company of our loved ones. Who wouldn’t love undivided attention, by turning off all the potential distractions. Presence is something we must intentionally choose and cultivate.
Gift No. 2: Gift of Acceptance,
How liberating the other person would feel, when we don’t force them to fit into our definition of how people and things ought to be. Instead of getting them to stop doing what we don’t like, what if we wholly accept the other person as they are?
Gift No.3: Gift of Appreciation,
It is the end of the year, and it is time to list down and be grateful for all the wonderful ways in which we were helped and rescued by our friends and family. Acknowledging and thanking about the good that others brought to us would not only make the recipients happy but lift us up too.
Gift No. 4: Gift of Affection,
Let us pull out and throw away all the conditions we put to love. Truly and unconditionally loving them the way they want to be loved. Giving selfless love would put us in a higher vibration.
Gift No. 5: Gift of Allowance,
This is where we are willing to release our grip of control over people and situations. This is where we do not force things to happen our way by manipulation. This is when we await the beauty of uncertainty to unfold.
It might be difficult to keep up with these gifts consistently. But, how wonderfully it would transform our relationships if even a hint of them gets absorbed within us. I hope I am able to do my best. Would you like to try them too? Share your thoughts on it!!!
Wishing you all an amazing time filled with connection, joy and rest.
The true spirit of Christmas is a reminder that our most precious gifts are not found wrapped in ribbon beneath a tree draped in lights but amongst the hearts and the laughter of those who come together beside it.
