There are innumerable cultural Archetypes involving success, achievement, beauty, popularity, love, family, marriage, wealth, religion, education. Eg. Success is only measured on the basis of material possessions, only a certain body type or skin color is defined as beautiful, gender stereotyping or ascribing specific attributes , characteristics or roles to an individual woman or man, so on and so forth.
These unrealistic social standards, which we are conditioned to meet from our childhood, are so suffocating. Considering the amount of toxicity they spread in our lives, we necessarily need to unlearn and undo them.
They are so rigidly ingrained in our belief systems that we almost condemn the people who do not follow or live in accordance with them and label those individuals to be a failure or unsuccessful.
We don’t realize these archetypes are patterns we have inherited, so much so that we consider them to be a way of living and unconsciously pass them on to our children.
All these myths that we have got are based on fear. We need to release all these patterns which have limited us to feel freer and lighter. In our current society, our status determines how much love and respect we will receive from others and as a result, whether we can confidently love ourselves.
Most of us are unsure of our own worth. Our identities are very much based on the perception of others. We follow linear and rigid societal patterns and constantly obstruct our capacity to live our life to the fullest and have a strong sense of fulfillment.
The first step to come out of this negative spiral of conforming to the stereotypical rules and stressing out to meet the expectations, is becoming AWARE of them.
This awareness will give us the POWER OF CHOICE of mindfully discerning what patterns are we following which are obstructing our fullest expression. Thus coming to terms with these limiting belief systems and then making a choice to elevate our consciousness level is so liberating.
F.E.A.R. has two meanings- Forget Everything And Run OR Face Everything And Rise. The choice is yours.
