Motivation

When we arrive on this planet earth, we are clean slates, without any self-definitions, worldviews, opinions, beliefs etc. We learn, interpret and respond to our surroundings as we see it and experience it.

One basic and crucial aspect of human psychology is, “What we practice, we get master at.” For a long time, we have trained ourselves to focus on problems, in an attempt to prevent them from happening again.

There are innumerable cultural Archetypes involving success, achievement, beauty, popularity, love, family, marriage, wealth, religion, education. Eg. Success is only measured on the basis of material possessions, only a certain body type.

Most of us have been raised on the diet of “I am not good enough.” Our lack of acceptance of ourselves shows up in all sorts of ways we deal with things in life. When we don’t accept our own body types or beauty or worth or sense of imperfection.

Not long ago, I used to have this dialogue with my inner self very often. I used to ask myself, ” “Am I good enough, in my duties as a mother, a wife? Am I ‘Perfect’ enough? “ And in the chase of this so-called, “Perfect Self”.

11 years ago, my extended maternity leave from work gave me an opportunity to have the best time with my daughter, creating memories for a lifetime. I had decided to be a stay at home mom for a few years and resume work only after it felt right to me.
