11 years ago, my extended maternity leave from work gave me an opportunity to have the best time with my daughter, creating memories for a lifetime. I had decided to be a stay at home mom for a few years and resume work only after it felt right to me. But there was always an underlying sense of self-inadequacy and self-insignificance, about not being able to progress on my work front. The frustration raised to the extent of giving me my lowest lows. In order to find meaning to my situation and uplift my sense of being, I started off with some spiritual courses and yoga courses. They proved to be substantially motivational and fulfilling. They gave a much needed boost to my self-worth.
The definition to my search started coming when I noticed that Personal development concepts and Spirituality learnings, synergistically gave compounding results.
Today, let us see what exactly is Personal Development?
It is the investment into improving ourselves. It involves taking responsibility for our life and taking conscious actions to improve it. It is not a mere technique or tool to make quick fixes; rather it is a way of life.
Personal Development may take many forms:
- It can be about educating ourselves to improve our knowledge professionally.
- It can be stepping up and facing the things we fear, so that we may improve our courage.
- It can be exercising to increase our fitness.
- It can be about learning a skill which gives us inner joy.
- It can be about improving our relationships with others.
- It can be about installing new habits and new behaviors, in order to create a better persona.
- It can be about learning concepts which may create a greater self-awareness and greater self-responsibility to take control of the experiences we have in life and thus evolve from being a victim to being a creator.
Personal development is the attitude that we are constantly improving ourselves each day. It is about taking on skill sets and mindsets which help us access our highest potential and we strive to be the best version of ourselves.
You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important you are!!!!!
Eckhart Tolle
The only hindrances which we may encounter in taking that first step toward the newer self are our existing limiting belief systems and lack of focus and determination in this age of digital distraction.
Let us pledge to unlearn all that is stopping us and let us begin to install some amazing habits and rituals in our daily lives which would help us to take a step toward our upgraded versions.
When we commit to growth, everything in our lives will grow. We get so powerful as human beings that business and laziness disappears. And we use our abilities to transcend overwhelm, anxiety and limitations. We begin to untap the power of the universe within our soul.
